Kid friendly?

Based solely on Citysearch's "Best Of..." nominations and recommendations, me, my sister, and my nieces went to Serendipity 3 for lunch -- anticipating a great time. It was, hands-down, the *worst* dining experience I have ever had.

1) The service was terrible. We were ingnored for the first 20 minutes we were seated, never got refills, and had to hunt down our waiter three times.

2)There were no highchairs or children's menu of any kind.

3)Waitstaff were overheard complaining and gossiping loudly about customers.

4) Management couldn't have cared less about our concerns.

5) There wasn't a decent table in the place and it was dark, dusty, and depressing.

6)The other customers were just as obnoxious as the wait staff.

This was the LEAST child-friendly establishment I've ever been to. The buzz on the place is so inaccurate.

There seems to be a shortage of kid-friendly, kid-fun restaurants in this town. Am I missing something? My sister is to the point where she doesn't want to bring the kids in anymore and that's pretty sad.
