Maybe I’m weird. I like my burnt ends charred, chewy or crunchy. Almost inedible to some, but this is where the flavor is. Where’s the best place for burnt ends in this style? I’ve read the threads and have been to Jack Stack’s at the Freight House (best so far), LCs, two Smokestacks (north KC & Wornall Road), and Arthur Bryant’s. Oklahoma Joe’s doesn’t even list burnt ends on its online menu and it appears Danny Edwards closes before I’ll get to town.
Perhaps my mind’s playing tricks on me, exaggerating how good burnt ends used to be in the "good old days" of Jake Edwards and the Smokestack on south Highway 71.
