I have had this dessert at the Thai festival (http://www.tastesofthailand.ca/) every year for the past three years, but I don't want to wait a whole year for my next fix. This fried-dumpling-like food is made from fresh coconut milk, rice and sugar. The mixture is boiled then fried in a specially cast pan. The resulting bite-sized hemispheres are crisp-chewy brown on the outside and soft and gooey inside. The cooks who made them at the stall this year were not from a restaurant. Does anyone here know of a Thai restaurant in Toronto that makes these?
