A new restaurant, JV's Barbecue, just opened down the street (5659 Las Virgenes) and of course in a food wasteland like Calabasas I was excited to try it.
The verdict: Surprisingly delicious!
I ordered a bbq pork sandwich and my boyfriend a tritip sandwich, both came with two sides and between us we got garlic vegetables, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw. All of it was good! The owner seems like a nice guy and threw in some free garlic rolls, soda, and a little apple pie/cobbler thing since it was out first visit. Additionally, even though its in kind of a run down little strip mall looking place, it actually had a nice enough interior that we'll probably stay to eat next time even though we live down the street.
The only downside is that it's a little expensive, although after we ate we agreed it was well worth it.
Anyone else tried it?
