Jesse Wong's Hong Kong--help me understand please

I had gone there about two years ago and was completely underwhelmed, but I had heard good things about it from this board and other places, so I went again this weekend. And all I can say is why?

Why with a perfectly good dim sum place not ten minutes (probably even less) away just up 29 would anyone go to this joint? How can I even begin? Got seafood chow fun, both the shrimp and scallops were frozen. And they loaded up on garlic. The chicken feet had red peppers and NO black beans in it. Stuffed tofu had maybe four. Spinch in the dumplings was obviously frozen. Charsui bow was store bought as well. Nothing had any flavour.

I've been to I believe every dim sum place between here and Reston (except haven't been to Lucky 3 yet), and usually there's a few things that I like at every place. Here--nothing. My friends wouldn't even take the leftovers home.

Anyways, what am I missing?
