I almost hate to let the cat out of the bag about this incredibly understated and amazing Japanese restaurant, but Hirozen gourmet is one of the best restaurants I've been to, Japanese or otherwise, for food.
I started going there a couple of years ago, and the food does an amazing job of walking the line between authentic, traditional Japanese style food and innovative, seasonal, local flair. You would never guess that such a special place was tucked away in the corner of a little strip mall.
The flattering text on the web page belies chef Obayashi's humility and coolness, similar to the way the restaurant's setting belies it awesome-ness.
Anybody else been there?
