Stopped by james hook early Sat afternoon. I was going to buy three lobster rolls to go. But then I noticed they were selling broken lobster pieces they were calling 'salad lobster' for $25/lb. The lobster rolls were $9 each and already stuffed. I don't really like a cold roll, so I bought a pound of the lobster, mixed it up at home with some hellman's and salt, and stuffed it into a few NE hotdog buns grilled with butter.
Man, those were the best lobster rolls I've had anywhere this year. Better than Bob's in Kittery or Abbotts in Noank. CT, fer sure.
I was afraid the salad lobster might be inferior, from dead or almost dead lobsters, but it was great for lobster salad.
Now I'm thinking it wouldn't be too bad in a lazy lobster dish either.....
