jamaican cart lady on 161st

forgive me if i've posted about her before, but i just have to put this rec out there. never having been to the sainted arepa lady, i can't compare, but fauzia, who fills my belly almost daily (alas, there aren't many options where i work; on 161st st in the bronx) exudes peace and warmth. she serves jamaican and soul food, weekdays until 2ish. her sorrel is herby and flavorful, not too sweet and not too sour. her cod fish cakes are fried deliciousness. she has lots of veggie options (bbq tofu is my favorite). her banana pudding (wednesdays and fridays only) is sinful decadence-- cream and salt and sweet.
just ate jerk chicken over lentil puree. hot, spicy jerk, my head is burning, and i am one happy girl.

that being said, the jerk is not always so spicy or good, and things are variable from day to day. but get in line (she's on the se corner of 161st and sheridan) and check her out.
