New Jajangmyun in Oakland

Looks like Yetnal is moving across the street, but wait there's more. There is a new Jajangmyun place in Oakland, called Yuyu something. It is a bit smaller than Yetnal (in Koryo plaza). It is on Telegraph at 40th St, close to MacArthur BART. The regular Jajang is a bit soupier than normal, but the Kan JaJang is the thing to get. Good amount of sauce and onions with fresh tasting noodles. Their steamed dumplings are not as good as Yetnal, but bearable. They also have a Chinese menu as well. I also sampled the Kampoong Shrimp (a variation of Kung Pao), that was a little too sweet for my taste but had a good crispy, although maybe too crispy batter. Try it out for yourself.

I'm torn. The Jajangmyun is better but I still crave the dumplings at Yetnal. Now if there is only a place that has seafood jajangmyun as well.

crimson out (good to be back on the board)
