My grandchildren recently received an old-fashioned ice-cream maker (the wooden type with a canister in the center that uses ice and rock salt) as a gift.
I'll b visiting them over Labor Day and would like to make them the same type of lemonade (frozen) that my father made for our family many years ago. My memory is not serving me well as I have forgotten the recipe for the lemonade itself and the actual procedure it making it.
I've done a bit of research on line and am slightly confused ----- corn syup, egg whites, etc. I'm not after Italian Ice, but rather the smooth, semi-frozen, stuff similar to what Mario's in Chicago produces all summer long.
Have had Italian ICE in other parts of the country, but nothing quite as good as that made by my father or that sold at Mario's.
(Mario's became the go-to guy after my father passed away)
SOOOOOO ... ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated. Gotta keep those grandkids thinking that I'm the best grandfather in Florida!!!!!
