Isabella's Westfield Review

Just a quick review here. Several people have mentioned that Isabella's in Westfield was no big deal. But, this evening we were in the mood for someplace new and since it was superbowl Sunday and we don't partake in those festivities, we thought trying Isabella's might work out ok. You know, no crowds, better service, etc.

We were pleasantly surprised. Got there early, about 5:30 (we were seeing a movie after). We weren't starving so we opted just for entrees. I got a pan roasted chicken breast with garlic jus, vegetable stuffing, mashed potatoes and a nice combo of broccoli, cauliflower and carrots on the side. My husband had a cheddar stuffed meatloaf, also with mashed potatoes and frizzled parsnip slivers mounted on top. Both were very flavorful, nicely presented and moderately priced. My chicken was very juicy, the skin nicely crisped, a tad salty but not so much that it ruined the dish and besides, I'm a salt lover anyway. Hubbies meatloaf was moist and the cheddar inside really made it seem almost like a cheeseburger (n a good way).

Service was good, attentive but not overbearing. Water was filled consistantly without having to ask and very unobtrusively. Bread on table was warm, a nice touch.

Based on our experience, we'll definitly try it again. I do miss Elm Street which had been in this space before, but this is a nice follow-up and while not in the caliber of being innovative, it was a solidly good experience.
