Need further information on: Tark's Clams; Tropical Acres; Rustic Inn and Bavarian Village

Hi. I have enjoyed reading through the Hollywood area postings (especially Koppleman). My husband and I have been to the Hollywood area several times and are returning for a 10 day stay soon. I was hoping you all could help me with some questions about places we have passed but not visited and updates or other tips about places that have opened since April 2004.

Questions:

Tark's Clams: Have passed this place many times in the afternoon and it is closed. Our last night last year, we drove by and it was PACKED. Naturally, I want to check it out this year. What else is good other than the fried whole clam bellies? What are the hours generally? Any days they are closed? Do they serve beer or is it BYO?

Tropical Acres: I know it is an old fart joint, but I was intrigued by a comment I saw that said it was great for breakfast? Do they serve breakfast every day or just on weekends? Some example dishes? I feel like I should support this place simply for the reason that I love their sign on US 1.

Rustic Inn: I have been told by friends that there is a "great place for garlic crabs near FLL". I am assuming this must be the Rustic Inn you discuss in the posts and that there are not two places in that general area that would fit that description unless I hear differently from hounds. What is dress code like here? Are tshirts and shorts OK, or should we upgrade to polo shirts and khakis?

Bavarian Village: I LOVE German food and, unfortunately NYC has virtually eliminated this category. Does the Village have decent basic German like Saurbraten, dumplings, sausage, etc.? I have a discount via I-Dine that is just ridiculous (40% off), so I am a little suspicious. I did eat in the Hungarian on US 1 right in the same area and liked it very much, even though it was way too much food.

If I haven't worn out your tolerance, I have a few other questions: Has anything noteworthy opened since April 2004 that I should check out? Is anything decent on the beach in Hollywood?...the pizza and grease palaces have always been a no go for me. I hear people rave about Michaels, but have never been able to find it...Is it the same storefront in the Publix plaza that says Michaels? The place never looks open but it could be my timing. Any decent place to buy fresh fish to grill back at our rental? We had liked Capt Mikes very much for several years, but the past two years the quality seemed down.

Thanks in advance for any help you all can give me on all of the (long-winded) above.
