Inexpensive Vietnamese Food in Philly (and Ba Le as well)

Doug Weller | Jul 2, 2001 01:32 AM

Our last of two nights there I shall either want rural American food (and hence Jack's Down Home Diner), which I can't get in the UK, or Vietnamese (very hard to get in the UK).

Any recommendations for inexpensive places (our budget will be broke by then). I like things sweet, not hot. The only other Vietnames food I've had was great, but had a good deal of French influence (what I had was described on the menu as related to beef bourginon, for instance).

I was thinking also of Ba Le for sandwiches for lunch the day we fly back to the UK -- anyone here try them?

Thanks.

Doug
