New Indian restaurant in Prospect Heights

Last night my wife and I had dinner at India Place, which opened a few weeks ago on Vanderbilt Avenue (between Park and Prospect). It's large enough to seat about 25 or 30 people, though they are working on a patio out back. The place was packed and all through our meal the phone was ringing for take-out orders. We had two meatless dishes: lentils, and veggie balls in a cream sauce, as well as a potato cake appetizer. While the food didn't blow us away, it was pretty tasty. It wasn't as heavy as many Indian restaurants and the spicing was delicate. The sauce for the veggie balls was the standout. They also have wine and beer; my wife had a decent glass of cabernet. Service was a tad slow, but I attributed that to the recent opening. It's nice to have an Indian restaurant in the neighborhood and so close to our home, the next nearest thing being Joy, on Flatbush Avenue. I'm also interested to see how Vanderbilt continues to change with time. Has anyone else tried India Place?
