We tried the Barking Frog a while back and it was very disappointing. Others we've talked with have been disappointed as well.
In any event, someone got the message as Tom Black was recently appointed executive chef. Tom was previously executive chef at Fuller's. Now Tom and his sous chef, Bobby, also from Fuller's have been making a few changes around the place.
This time the food was much better. For appetizers we had the Fois Gras and the Seared Tuna. Both were perfect and the sauces were so good our guests asked for more bread to clean the plates. My wife had the Crab appetizer for dinner and she loved it; I had the Sturgeon entrée special it was a huge serving, nicely prepared, and very rich impossible to finish.
Moving forward, Bobby indicated that they are planning to update the menus and they may even start offering a tasting menu. We're looking forward to it.
We are very happy with the improvements. It's definitely worth a second look now.
