So I searched.
And it seems like Mariposa was generally recommended for ice cream in SD.
Went tonight and had the rum raisin and pumpkin. Good, and tasty, but was not as creamy and velvety as I would like. And, yes, I know it's Philly-style ice cream, but I've had egg-less ice creams that were much smoother. The pumpkin, which I am told is custard based, was also not as creamy as I'd like, but certainly denser in terms of mouthfeel.
And the flavors of the ice cream also seemed a bit flat -- almost as if they were too sweet.
Solid place for ice cream. A very high 7 (on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being best).
So where else do people recommend for ice cream?
