Huarache Azteca in Highland Park--very good!

I'd been meaning to try this place for a couple of years but we've never gotten around to it. Of late it was mentioned in the Los Angeles Magazine 25 Best Mexican Restaurants issue (which actually had a few good places) and a girlfriend of mine tried it and raved. We stopped for take-out last night. The huaraches come with the meat of your choice--we got 'em with asada. I suspect they would be better eaten on site as the masa itself was slightly tough when it arrived home. Nevertheless, I liked very much. The tacos are outstanding and others in my party received burritos and tortas which they enjoyed very much. They have a few meats choices I've never heard of, plus cabeza, buche and the usual offerings. They also make their own fruit aquas which we didn't try. The place is tiny and was crowded. I thought our food would take forever but our order was prepared pretty quickly and checked out exactly as ordered when we got home. The place is ridiculously cheap. I spent $20.00 and we have enough food to feed the four of us at least another meal.
