Houston Chowhounds hit Hong Kong Food Street, a Cantonese restaurant located on Bellaire Blvd. in the shopping strip just east of Sinh Sinh.

Thanks to the recommendations of a new member of the group, who is Cantonese, we sampled 11 entrees and two appetizers. Everybody looked pretty happy about the results.

Appetizers:
Roast duck
Roast pork

Entrees:

Hand shredded chicken
Ong choy, a vegetable
Snowpea leaves with garlic
Snowpea leaves with crabmeat sauce
Eggplant with shrimp
Beef clay pot (with Chinese bacon??)
Clay pot with chicken, Chinese sausage, and taro root
Chicken, lotus, and some other things I forgot what
Fried sole
Shrimp, tofu, and mushroom

Anyone remember the other two?

Total with tip and chrysanthemum tea was $17 ppn.

Some of went to May’s Ice Cream, a Chinese shaved ice place in Diho ?Plaza.

Great night.
