A friend from Texas who lives for Chinese food (not Japanese, Thai, Korean, but CHINESE ONLY) was taken by another friend to House of Nanking during its glory days (When the New Yorker called it the best Chinese restaurant in the world) and now wants to go there every time he's here.
Tomorrow is one of those times. My husband has really grown tired of all the same sauces on the food at the H. of N. and will not go if we eat there.
Any ideas for places nearby? Our friend and his s.o. are staying downtown, so we don't really have a wide range of locations.
We've never done dim sum with him and I don't even know if he likes dim sum (!!??) Howevah, I need some suggestions for lunch tomorrow - dim sum and regular. I figure one could just order off the menu even when it's dim sum time.
Alternatively....if he's willing to BART over to Berkeley, maybe that place in Emeryville with the GG Br. view?
Thanks for any help. I promise I'll peruse the board here, too.
