This may be an absurdly broad method of information gathering, but I know you all are up to it...
I'm from the east coast, have travelled throughout the Western half of the United States, and presently live in Chicago. I have been neglecting the Midwest all my life, but will be going on a road trip (family style, but none of the encuberances usually associated - i.e.- NO KIDS)
I am looking for the best hotels with the best food in the midwest. Regional specialties, totally upscale, blow-the-expense-account kinds of places- all in Hotels.
For independant restaurants, this board has helped me to no end when I went on business to St. Louis, and I managed to eat well in Cleveland, but this is really a hotel to hotel kind of a thing. Call it research.
Thanks guys... if you're ever up on the Northside of Chicago, ask me about your sushi options!
