Hot Pot City/New in Town

Thanks to all of you who wrote about Hot Pot City last week. My brother and I were cold and hungry last weekend when in it was raining and I remembered the Chowhound Posting. We found the place and really enjoyed our hot pot experience there. The food was fresh and there was plenty for the vegetarian. Note that not all the broths are vegetarian so you might want to check. There is a choice of several and I think two do not have a meat base. Having lived in Taiwan for a couple of years, I was pleasantly surprised at how similar the hot pot there is to what I ate in Taiwan. The owners (Taiwanese of course) were very nice and chatty.

I happen to be in new in town - up for a year from LA and living in the SE part of Portland (right by Reed). As I am carless right now, I am interested in getting restaurant tips and suggestions for places that are fairly close by. Woodstock, Hawthorn, Belmont, etc.

I am particularly interested in recommendations for:
Chinese, Korean, sushi, Indian and Mexican as well as good ol' continental cuisine. I am not so into Thai and Vietnamese food. Anyway, if any of you have any suggestions or favorite restaurants, I would be very grateful. Thanks!
