Thanks to everyone for the great input! I can't believe all the great responses so I'm glad I'm in with a group of afficianados. Being originally from NYC, I grew up on Sabrett Push cart dogs. Fantasized about them during 13 months in Vietnam then came home and ate 13 (one for each month) my first night home in the Big Apple. I made one push cart guy very happy! Anyway, here's the final itinerary and thanks to all for your help. The Mutt Hut in San Leandro, then the Hot Dog Palace in Concord, then to Kaspar's in Oakland followed by Top Dog in Berkeley and then on to Oscar's in Berkeley ending up at The Junket for a german "dog" (sausage) and potato salad. This annual trek started out as a joke but as these things are, it is now a serious quest for the perfect dog.The trek begins in San Mateo on Saturday July 1st at 10 AM so if you want to meet the group,at any one of our selected locations, we look forward to meeting as many of our "advisors" as possible. Thanks to all, you have all been great. Pete the Jarhead.
