Hong Kong Noodle Mpls experience

Paz was convinced by the recent post on this place, so we went tonight, and had something of a mixed experience.
We got there early, around 6, so we got a table easily, but not too long afterwards the line stretched out the door, which led to some of the problems discussed later.
We ordered the salt and pepper squid, the noodles with ginger and I think garlic, and the mock chicken with broccoli and tofu. Shortly afterwards they came and told us that they didn't have the salt and pepper SHRIMP, so was some other shrimp dish they mentioned ok? We said we had ordered squid, so they said ok after some confusion. They brought the dishes widely spaced in time, which was sort of annoying. The squid was very good, sort of deep fried and light, easily the best dish of the night. The noodles were nice if a little dull, and the veggie dish was ok, but I hate broccoli, so I can't really judge.
They brought the soup after most of the meal had already arrived, which I hate. The hot and sour was ridiculously temperature hot, and when it finally cooled down, it was pretty bad, basically inedible. By this time the line was getting long for a table, and they were basically pushing us out the door, putting the check in front of us while we were still eating.
Overall the combination of mediocre service and a wide range in quality puts it kind of low on the list. It is more convenient than Mandarin or Tea House, so who knows?
