Little Hong Kong - El Cerrito

Awww, what happened to our little restaurant. Seven months ago or so they changed owners, tried it after. The meal and service was so bad I had to wait 6 months to see if they could pull it together, nope.
Big D and I hit them just as they opened, at 11am. Seemed fine, we ordered 2 lunches. I felt the need for snow peas & chicken with fried rice and Big D fancied the Kung Pao Chicken (damned I hope I spelled that correctly). Oh, don't forget the potsickers!
The soup that arrived was an egg flower design and looked okay, but was pretty tasteless. Water broth, yum. A couple showed up for lunch, both white. That made 4 of us white diners. I added some soy sauce to the soup, maybe that would help. Nope, it tasted odd (more on this later).
The lunch showed pretty quickly after, first I noticed the fried rice had nothing but rice and a little egg. Yup, same with the other lunch too. Tasted okay. The chicken was kinda boring, sauteed in soy sauce. Everything was kinda brown and boring. Big D said the same, not much taste going on. So I added a load of chili sauce. That was fine until I looked down to see a sleepy fly resting on the lid, I picked up the lid and the fly didn't move. I had to flip the lid to fling the fly off. I put the chili sauce back.
We were about 2/3 through our meal when the barely warm potstickers showed up. There were about 8 diners now, all white. It was getting creepy. Isn't the Bay Area supposed to be diverse?
We dove in to the potstickers and I asked Big D to use some Soy Sauce and tell me what he thought. He gave me a look and I had to coax him in to it. It came out like light syrup and didn't roll around the plate, just stayed in a puddle. He tasted it and he said it tasted as though it'd been reduced, bingo. So I grabbed a bottle from another table, same thing. Nasty for what we were using it for. It didn't have any salty brightness, muted and strong. The potstickers were of the frozn commodity type, but NOT pork. They were some tasteless chicken or something. Nice crunchy bottom though.
We got up pretty quick to pay so we could get out, but as we were at the cash register we looked at the phone. It looked as though it'd never been wiped clean and I swear it looked as though something slightly green was growing on there, scary.
Ya know, I'm not ever going back, unless they change ownership again. The only reason I would go back would be to see what color the phone is growing in to.

ps - I would rate it Medium on the MSG usage chart, my mouth is all funky, but I've had worse levels from lunch.
