Holiday Desserts and Cocktails Menu - what am I missing?

momnivore | Dec 9, 2010 12:32 PM

So we're hosting about 40 friends for a desserts and cocktails party the weekend before Christmas. This is our "menu" and I'm wondering if I have enough and if not what else I can add. Most of what I'm doing is homemade but I do work full time and have two kids under the age of 4 so we are going to buy some stuff from the store (I'll mark which is homemade):

Drinks:
Beer
Wine
Hot Chocolate/Coffee Station (with marshmallows/whipped cream/peppermint schnapps)
Hot mulled wine
Pointsettia Punch
Candy Cane Martinis
(and various n/a drinks too - soda, juice, etc)

Desserts:
Homemade:
Chocolate Macaroon Bundt Cake
Chocolate Chip cookie pie
pumpkin bread pudding
caramel apple cheese cake
red velvet layer cake
Nigella Lawson's Clementine Cake (haven't tried it yet - but saw all the talk about it on here and thought I'd give it a go)
Gingerbread cookies
Brownies (actually, I'll confess, I'll use a mix for these)
Pumpkin muffins

Store bought:
Chocolate Chip cookies
mini cupcakes
Sugar cookies (if I have time I might make these with the kids, but its looking unlikely)
and because my husband really wants to - a giant pie from Costco

So do you think this is enough? The party starts at 8 and we expect about 40 people. If you think I need more, any suggestions (preferably something that can be made in advance?) Thanks!
