We had dinner at HENRY'S END again this week, and the newest game menu is featured.Outstanding. Marc has outdone himself this year and everytime we go, it seems the better the food gets.
Surely worthy of its ZAGAT 26.
I had the Wild Game Paté and the Roasted Alaskan Wild Black Cod which was the best fish I have eaten. The cod was prepared with a soy/hoisin glaze with ginger and scallion and served on a bed of slightly bitter bok choy, which complemented the very sweet fresh fish.
Monsieur had the Turtle Soup and the Scandinavian Venison Stew, a heady winey rich dish with subtle accents of caraway and juniper.
We shared a dessert.
The food at HENRY'S END is the equal of any in NY. Ah yes! The place could be prettier, less noisy, with tables larger and further apart.
The service is very good, and the price is right.The same quality meal in Manhattan would be 2-3 times pricier.
