healthy vegetarian congee at Congee Village

After several tastings I must plug this dish as one of my favorite cure-all-ills ever. Always an excellent consistency with just the right amount of ginger to flavor it, and the varied vegetables (baby corn, carrots, mushrooms, and what I believe are broad beans, are perfect. Great for recuperating from the holidays.

Also, while many of the other dishes at CV can be rather bland, I did have a satisfying dinner there the other night, which included lotus root in special bean paste sauce (very tasty) and mixed mushrooms with fried tofu (the tofu was very fresh and soft, but again a little bland, and not crispy enough for my taste, and several interesting varieties of mushrooms were used of varied textures).
