Hatcho in Santa Clara for Sushi Lovers

Tucked in the small Franklin Square shopping mall is a sushi treasure trove. High quality sushi for 2/3 the price of many other restaurants. I've enjoyed repeatedly the $9.95 lunch sushi special. This includes about 7 pieces of assorted sushi; 6 to 8 (I cannot remember, but it is certainly generous) pieces of your choice of either California roll, salmon roll, or spicy roll; salad and miso soup.

The assorted sushi are all fish, no tamago sushi. The sushi is outstanding, fresh, and clean tasting. The miso soup is very good. The salad would benefit from a more assertive dressing.

Visually, the presentation is lovely and pleasing to the eye. The same sushi special can be served on different colored, floral plates arranged on a larger tray.

I've seen other customers order Japanese hambuger with egg, noodles, and soups, all served in an intriguing looking box or basket structures.

All the sushi is made to order (even the special). It takes about 15 minutes for them to prepare 2 sushi specials. So if you are in a hurry, they are happy to take your call on the phone to it will be ready for your arrival.

The waitresses are friendly and attentive to refilling your tea or water.

Parking is easy in the 2 shopping center lots.
