Just had dinner at Harper's Tavern in Annville Pa. and was very disappointed. NYC prices so you would expect quality at that price. The food was poor and the service very spotty. The food when it was brought out had been sitting to long under the heat lights thus all the sauces were congealed and gummy and the meats dense. My dish, the salmon with dill sauce was overcooked. My friend had the prime rib which was about a quarter of a pound of meat and a 1/4 pound of fatYUCK.
It seems to be a popular place with the locals which will not give them much incentive to improve food and service. It's too bad because the setting is very scenic and the place has some history behind it. The potential is there to make this place a destination and unfortunately the owners are not realizing this.
