I went to Hank's today for brunch (really lunch) before I saw a play nearby. I had heard so much about the place I was excited to try it. It was a great experience. When I got there at 1:15 or so it was only a third full but when I left an hour later is was packed. They have a nice patio out front facing 16th Street but I sat just inside the restaurant where they had opened the big picture windows/doors.
I had the lobster roll, fries and a nice dry white wine, all very tasty. My server was helpful and didn't rush me along, even as the place filled. I loved the nice extra touches: a small bowl of goldfish crackers on the table at the beginning and chunks of dark chocolate at the end, which went well with my coffee. And to top if off, they actually had fresh flowers in the restrooms, tulips and peonies!
I was impressed. I'm not in that area of Dupont Circle much but I would defintely go back when I am.
