I have been avoiding all the Smith Street restaurants like the plague, but last night I relented and went to Grocery.
When we sat down, they brought a little free taste of a fuji apple salad with an unusual herb called "lettuce burnett." Very tasty. The steamed manilla clam appetizer wasn't that great - a little too clammy or something.
But I have to say, they have a duck entree that is out of this world!! The most perfectly cooked duck breast, with aligote (a french variation on mashed potatoes, mixed with sort of a gooey cheese), greens and a few roasted carrots. With a great sauce that pulled it all together. Although it's pricey, I'll definitely go back for this dish again when I'm feeling like a splurge.
