Gregoire - Fried Chicken, Ceaser Salad & V-Day

Gregoire has some serious comfort food on the menu this month. Fried chicken wings with a buttermilk dipping sauce is the definitive yuppie-glutton experience. Crispy skin that is not too greasy, moist tender meat, and a sauce that is reminiscent of an upscale ranch dressing. Besides being delicious, at $12.95 it's one of the cheaper items on the dinner menu.
Ceaser Salad is near perfect. I'm one of those people who orders Ceasers everywhere I go and this one is among the best I've had. I'd put it on par with Zuni's (though it's a fraction of the price). Of course, with a Ceaser it's all about simplicity. Fresh, crisp lettuce and an excellent dressing is all you really need.
Roast beef with horseradish is one of my all time favorite sandwiches. The flavorful roast beef (made in house, of course) is the perfect counterpoint to the spicy, freshly grated horseradish.
For those of you who haven't snagged a V-Day res yet, Gregoire offers a fabulous take out V-Day menu. It's fixed price - four courses for two people for $70. Featuring entrees like rack of lamb and filet mignon it's an incredible deal. I'm also really excited about the frisee salad with bacon and quail eggs. Mrs. Mousse and I loved our V-Day at home last year and this year's menu looks even better. Just order it soon, because they will sell out.
