After endless disappointment with the numerous chinese take-out joints around here, I was tipped off that Great Wealth (in Elmhurst) will deliver to Jackson Heights. The tip included the fact that it was tough to communicate with them in English (& sometimes even in Cantonese) so we went over last weekend to get some take-away and pick up a menu for delivery.
Overall, Great Wealth is more on par with the Cantonese places I've encountered in Manhattan's Chinatown than your typical American-style Chinese take-out joint, but IMO, that's all the better.
Steamed Pork Buns ($3.50 for 6) -- these were tasty, but most of the soup had drained out before we got to have them at home :(
Pan Fried Noodles with Beef ($6.50) -- they were out of the broad noodles for chow fun, and suggested this instead... we were pleasantly surprised. The sauce was tasty, and the beef was a step-up from the typically chewy beef I encounter a lot at Chinese restaurants.
Broccoli w/Garlic Sauce ($6.50) -- nicely sauced (not that gloopy garlic sauce we normally get) and the broccoli spears were crisp
We haven't tried delivery yet, but armed with the menu and knowing that they seem to prefer you to tell them the numbers on the menu rather than the names of the dishes (this is what happened when we ordered at the restaurant), we're looking forward to trying it and will report back after we do. They did confirm that they would deliver to us (we live on 35th Ave/88th Street).
