My boyfriend and I had a terrific dinner at Spicy Mina's on Tuesday night, our first meal at the new location, and I think it's better than ever.
We arrived at around 9PM. The only other diners were a family of 4 with a baby, and one couple.
We started with pani puri, which arrived quickly. It was a very generous order (9 pieces) and was fresh and tasty. Next was palak paneer made with utterly fresh chopped spinach and crumbly homemade paneer, not the frozen stuff mentioned in some previous posts. The chicken jhal fry was, in my boyfriend's words, kick-ass. Complex, irresistable flavors. The roti was just as amazing as I remembered it from the old place. We got our kheer to go, and it was wonderful, but didn't include the piece of carrot halwah that other posters have mentioned. We'll try it to stay next time.
We asked for everything VERY spicy, and were obliged. The spiciness did not overpower the flavors, however. And while the food did not come out as fast as it would have in a steam-table joint, the wait was perfectly reasonable; not out of line with what you'd expect at any other restaurant.
We can't wait to go back.
