Just returned from not only one of the best pizza experiences I've ever had here in LA, it was the best deal. You cant see it from the street but just off Main St(3110) in Santa Monica is 31Ten, a new restaurant that happens to feature a wood burning oven and a passionate and talented pizzaiolo at the helm. Everyday at Happy Hour 31Ten features expertly crafted pies at a mere pittance, between $6 and $8 per pie. Thats $6 for a regular sized(14 inch?) pie! I had a Diavolo pie which means mozzarella, roasted peppers and a "kind of hybrid pepperoni." It was nearly indescribably delicious. They dont use imported Caputo flour but the crust exhibited a similar soft chewiness. The toppings simply melded into delirious bite after bite. Cant wait to go back! woo,hoo!!!!!
