great newish breakfast spot--Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh

The Sunrise Cafe, corner of Butler & 54th Streets, is my new favorite breakfast spot.

Breakfast is served all day. I've been to the place about 7 times since April '03 and always order the "Sunrise Special"--undoubtedly the cheapest deal in town.

For $2.49, you get 3 eggs, 2 slices of italian bread toast, home fries, and choice of meat. $2.49!! The home fries have always been perfect: golden, warm, a touch of grease but not dripping, crisp on the outside, soft inside..

After multiple disappointing visits to Deluca's in the Strip (still good for banana walnut french toast), the Sunrise is a very neccessary addition to the neighborhood.

$2.49!
