Every time I go here I wonder why this place isn't packed. Although I'm lucky it's not, because it's a leisurely expereince as it is...if they were busier, I'd never get my food :-)

They have a sign up front letting people know to expect longer wait times, because they cook to order. It's well worth the wait though. The menu is Italian, with a few Portuguese specials. We almost always order the Portuguese options, and are never disappointed.

We started (as we have the last few times we've been there) with the Camarones de Casa- this is shrimp sauteed in a garlicky spicy piri piri sauce. I LOVE this sauce- I can't stand to leave one drop on the plate, and luckily they are generous with the bread so I don't have to resort to licking the plate (which I would do if I had to- it's goooood.)

Hubby had pork and clams over french fries. The pork was a bit tough and overdone, but still very edible. I had the Gnocchi alla Portobello (or something like that) which was perfectly cooked gnocchi with prosciutto and peas. The peas were a bit disappointing- of the frozen variey, it seemed, but overall I enjoyed the dish.

Dessert was not particularly memorable, but necessary to offset the effects of the cocktail and bottle of Vinho Verde we split :-)

I really recommend hounds in the area give this place a try!
