Great food -- Not too young of a scene -- for a reunion with 2 schoolmates, all 45 years young.....

Want a lively scene, as two of us are single, and all(try to) act like we're 5-10 yrs younger. So a 30's to 40's type place is in the cards.

Drinks, dinner, any price (but not Ducasse formality or time spent dining), any cuisine, any location in Manhattan. But admit, we all want a bit of a scene with singles in their 30's and 40's, as this is a festive, fun-filled night out -- and good/ great food is the next most impt criterion!!

Thinking of these, and eagerly open to more:

Gramercy Tavern
Artisinale
Veritas -- no scene
57 Nobu
Bar Americain -- getting too over-populated with a less than sophisticated crowd
La Goulue -- always see too many UES fashionistas and metrosexuals picking them up.....
Smith & Wollensky
The Modern -- restaurant was quiet and bar dead when there last week
21 Club -- clientele all too old?
Fresco -- never been
Tao -- way too young and bridge & tunnel; popped in tonight to check it out and left in 3 seconds
Four Seasons Bar -- perhaps, but perhaps too much of a pick-up joint!, and crowd is getting much more downscale

Eager for more ideas.... Thx!
