great cheesecake in patchogue, long island

I recently decided to try out this new ice cream place across from the Patchogue-Medford Library on Main St, called Mystic Flavors. I was never much of a cheesecake person but within the past year or so I've developed a taste for it and now I like to try it everywhere. The ice cream here (I tried the pumpkin) wasn't much in my opinion, but the cheesecake- superb! I tried the plain first and asked [the man who seemed to be] the owner if he made it himself, and he told me didn't, but he'd be willing to order a whole cake from his supplier for me if I wanted (score! I think I might take him up on that sometime soon....). It was fairly cheap ($2.50 for a regular-sized slice, I think) but worth double that much. Like I said, I haven't been a cheesecake fan for long, but I think I know something good when I taste it, and this was perfectly balanced, just creamy, cheesy, and sweet enough. Very satisfying!

I also tried the one with the chocolate raspberry topping, which I wasn't as fond of. It probably has the same cheesecake base (why wouldn't it?) but I felt it took away from the stand-alone flavour and texture of the cake. They also have a strawberry variety, and two others that I can't remember at the moment.

In short, highly recommended. If anyone tries it out, I'd like to hear what you thought as well.
