Last year the grasshoppers here in North Texas were horrible. They ate everything and anything I had in my garden, right down to the ground. They even ate my rose bushes down so they looked like I had pruned them.
Well, over the weekend I've noticed baby grasshoppers. Any suggestions for protecting my garden without tons of pesticides? Are there any more "natural" ways to control them? My neighbor has chickens and I know chickens & ducks are bug-eating machines, but my neighbor keeps his chickens in for 23 hours a day, which doesn't make sense, instead he leaves his two large dogs out 24/7 to poop in my yard & roam the neighborhood.
Any suggestions? (About the grasshoppers, not the neighbor :) )
