So... after a nice dinner at Jak's, I'm feeling exceptionally guilty.
I normally get my meat at the farmer's market (or, for boneless poultry, organic, free range at the market) and really do try to swear by the grass fed properly raised meat. But, at Jak's, they serve.. nay, they take pride in serving the finest corn-fed beef.
After reading Omnivore's Dilemma, I'm not sure how much more I can take it. Sure, I can still handle the occasional hamburger foray, but, a good steak should be treated with more respect.
So, I know Sterling Cafe served a skagit river ranch steak, but they closed at the end of July, and I'm looking for more of the steak house experience. So the hanger steak at Tilth isn't really perfect either (tho it is tasty).
El Gaucho serves 'Angus', The Met is corn fed and proud, and Daniel's is "USDA Prime" which is just as corn fed....
So, what's my options folks? Any suggestions (besides cooking it myself, of course)?
