Grammercy Tavern

Ate there last night. One of the best meals I've had in NYC. Definitely going back there. My wife and I had 3 appetizers (she couldn't choose btw 2 so I had them bring a third one too) the scallops, lobster and the crab. All three were amazing. She had the halibut entree and I had the roast chicken, we both thought the entree's were some of the best we've ever had. Usually, we like the appetizers better than the entree's at nice restaurants but at Grammercy Tavern the entree's more than held their own. We were both stuffed come dessert time but since it was included we opted for the sorbets and a chocolate/hazelnut thing that was excellent. We both drank wine during the meal, I had a couple glasses of Pinot Noir and my wife had a couple glasses of 1989 Vouvray (sp?) which she said was among the best white wine she had ever had...
Just wanted to share the experience. To put some of my comments in the proper perspective we have eaten at Daniel, Jean George, Cafe Gray, Aqua Grill, Tabla, 11 Madison, Union Square Cafe, DB Bistro Modern, Ouest, Aix, Cesca, Babbo just to name a few over the past 6 months or so for comparison. We eat out a lot and usually at nice places and I was extremely surprised and pleased at the experience.
