Goupil & Decarlo Patisserie

Does anyone like this 8 month old patisserie?I've been a big fun of this place since last summer.G & D is somehow less exposed by the media, but it's a great French pattiserie.New York Magazine chose Le Pain Quotidien for the best croissant. To me,the winner is D & G. L.P.Q. makes incredible dome shape chocolate mousse and cup cake like brownie(both are so good!),Despite it's a big franchised bakery.(There are more than 10 spots in Europe and planning open in Tokyo.NYC has 4.)But I'm not really impressed by croissant here(still good as a NYC standard).I love Payard,Bouley,Balthazar,Ceci-cela,etc...and I like D & G best. Especially almond croissant as well as plain one,One of the best in the city. And price!so reasonable. $1-1.50!!Don't forget the weekend brunch menue. The Pancakes which look slightly imperfect are really good. Comes with heavenly strawberry butter!! Almond croissant runs out quickly. 224 E. 13th St. bet 2nd & 3rd Ave. 212-473-3320
