Good Turkish in N.E. Queens

My husband and I have been going to this Turkish restaurant in Little Neck for a few years now and I want to share it with you other "Hounds" out there if you haven't discovered it already! Its name is KEBAB HOUSE (don't let the name fool you....this is not fast food or just "kebab mentality" cuisine!)and they are located at 255-05 Northern Blvd. First off, expect very fresh food and a very clean place with very friendly/helpful waitstaff(no language barriers whatsoever). We find it to be a pleasurable experience after a day's work (note:we only go there M-Th. so what I write is based on weeknight experience only!). Our favorites are as follows: Starters- amazing tripe soup (I call it Turkish New England clam chowder-no cream but white based)with all the sides(aleppo pepper/garlic&vinegar),sigara borek(cheese stuffed phyllo),huge leaf arugala salad that we eat leaf by leaf with our hands, cubed beef liver called aranut ciger-Salads:all are very cold, crisp, fresh but my fav is the piyaz(w/beans)-mains:the lamb doner is HOMEMADE and amazing, also amazing is a dish called "chicken chops":inside-out drumsticks w/ great seasoning, brooktrout and swordfish kebabs that are really good.We are not big dessert eaters, but I will recommend the kadayif and the rice pudding-all homemade. Also Turkish wine is pretty decent(I usually get white by the glass).Don't be put off by the offer of bottled water vs. tap...they are told to offer it, it's your choice. There is a ton more but like I said, these are our favs. Also FTR, alot of Turkish/Armenian/Israeli customers (as well as Americans) frequent this place...that says something positive as well! Hope you enjoy!
