I'm also going to post this on the SF California board…

Hello!

My best friend and I are embarking on a west coast adventure soon (only 8 weeks of research left!)...We're flying into Seattle and driving all the way to San Diego.

Our overnight stops are:
Eureka/Arcata
San Fran (4 nights)
Monterey/Carmel/Pacific Grove
Cambria
Solvang
LA
San Diego (2 nights)

Anyhoo I've been doing research for MONTHS. And I have a few questions.....

Where to go for cocktails? I already posted this on the SF board, so I’m mainly looking for suggestions anywhere else we are stopping. We are both in our late twenties...and my buddie is gay, so I guess I should be a good friend and find out if there are good gay bars I should know about...but also we really enjoy wine and Michael loves a good martini...of course I can't say no to a good beer either!

Also, food wise:
In San Diego, I’m considering Geoge’s on the Cove. Is the terrace dining as good as the fine dining?

For the Santa Ynez Valley I’m completely torn between Cold Spring Tavern, The Hitching Post & Los Olivos Café. What would you do with one night?

Anyhoo your thoughts would be greatly appreciated
