Any tips to share about bread outlet stores?
The Wonder Hostess outlet near me in the SF Bay Area isn't that great, but they did have Whoopie pies ... not common in this area.
However, I heard good things about other bread outlets in the area. One response from free sample addict aka Tracy L
You might want to post this on the chains board too, I am sure there are some 'not to miss' items that most Earthegrains carries. I have been to several bread outlets in various cities and found them to be pretty consistent w/one another and have usually found good deals. Many have a bargain day, where the deals are really good. If you go on bargain day, go when they first open as it is a haven for SAHMs with lots of kiddies and people on fixed incomes (and people like me who hate to spend $4 for a loaf of bread). I don't suggest going the day after as the supply is generally picked over.
I was surprised that these places carry limited groceries too, not just marked down baked goods.
