We have just been to Goldfish in Ossning for dinner for a second time. I don't see them mentioned that often in CH, but both times I thought that they had a great way with seafood. Much better, IMHO, than Eastchester Fish Gourmet.
Last night I had a wonderful piece of tuna -- perfectly cooked to my medium rare order. I requested no salt and it was still perfect as it had a delicous soy glaze. It came with wasabi mashed potatoes and bok choy. The tuna had an unusual thin crust which I didn't expect but it actually enhanced the dish. My boyfriend had very large sea scallops which also came with delicious veggies/sauce. Thankfully, they don't oversauce. Oh, and let me mention that the portions are HUGE and prices good. The service last night was also attentive/outstanding -- they are eager to accommodate any special requests, i.e. if you don't like the fish cooked as shown on the menu they will easily do it a different way. The restaurant decor is okay -- nothing special, but casual, comfortable and relaxed, with a piano player. They also have a $35 prix fixed dinner which gives you a huge family style appetizer of fried calamari, gravalax, an oyster, clam and a little crabmeat or crabcake (couldn't tell). Most of the regular menu entrees appear on the prix fixe. It also cames with a dessert plate with fruit and a few small pieces of chocolate and cheesecake. Not sure if they have other dessert choices on the prix fixe. But I did not order off the prix fixe menu and there was plenty to share with the one prix fixe meal.
BTW, they don't accept restaurant.com coupons with the prix fixe meal, but as I ordered more than $35 worth of food and drinks off the regular menu we were able to use one -- and they take them Friday and Saturday nights which most restaurants don't. Overall, if you are in the area and love good seafood, this place is a must try!
