I lived in Calgary for several years, and realize that's the birthplace of ginger beef, but was hoping for an Edmonton rec for a good version of the dish.
What else could I seek out while I'm in Edmonton? Sad that Bistro Praha is closed for the next while. Besides Milan's mentioned in the recent Bistro Praha thread, are there any other Eastern European restaurants in Edmonton right now?
After reading a few threads, Sabzi and Dadeo jump out as restaurants I might want to try while I'm in Edmonton. Where else would you suggest?
I have read the recent thread on staying near the Sutton Place Hotel- but most of the restaurants recommended (like Blue Plate) seem to be your standard Continental/comfort food offerings. I'm more interested in things I might not be able to find east of the Red River.
Thanks for any of your suggestions.
I just realized this earlier thread is has a similar theme:
