As the temperature hovered near 90 this afternoon, I had a chance to try Pitango. Tried the Black Tea, Chocolate Noir (sorbet) and Hazelnut.
Each was unique and fabulous in their own right. The Black Tea reminded me of classic English tea with just the right balance of bitter and sweet. The Chocolate Noir, even though it's technically a sorbet, was as rich as chocolate-y as premium ice cream. The hazelnut was just outrageous, made me almost forget about pistachio gelato -- and mixed together with the chocolate noir it made you wonder if this is what Nutella should and can be.
Where are your favorite gelato spots in DC? I've heard good things about Dolcezza, but rarely make it out to the G'Town area.
