Take Away Gefilte Fish

.not as in "get rid of it," though I respect that there are many who feel that way about the dish, but rather as in, "to bring home with me."

Personally, I'm a big fan of gefilte fish when it's fresh, with a sliver of boiled carrot on top, and a little beet-horseradish. Anyway, I'm going to a friend's house for a pot-luck seder, and have offered, as my contribution, to try to locate some fresh gefilte fish, so that we won't have to face that gelatinous, canned drech that I suspect gets served soley through a dogged sense of tradition.

I figure that, since I live in the Miracle Mile area, there must be a deli, kosher fish market, appetizing store, etc. relatively nearby-- Fairfax, Robertson, Beverly Hills, etc.-- where I can get some good stuff. Since I only recently moved here from the East Coast, however, I don't know where to look.

Any suggestions?
